Wilder Side at Canoecopia: Day 2 Log

We had some fantastic conversations with current kayak owners and future kayak owners about their current transportation systems and how the Freedom Launcher could help them with their use cases. Because Jeff and Melinda were great salespeople, I was able to take a tour of kayak vendors and do a "dry fit" of the gorilla mount on several target kayaks... that was so cool. Also had a couple great conversations with fellow vendors and one significant trailer manufacturer that has significant extruding capability. I have several leads to follow up on to help grow this little business into something that is sustainable.

I'm so looking forward to getting back home and building a set of gear for my good friend Will from California. He is looking forward to installing his landing gear on his Hobie kayak in April.

Will, if you are reading this, I'm so looking forward to boxing up your system and getting it into your hands.

We met a new maker friend Kelly who needed a set of wheels for her catamaran style SUP board... we'll see what we can do to help her out. She is a school teacher by workday and avid fisherwoman by weekend :) So fun to meet new friends!

I was able to do some intel to fit up the gorilla mount to the plethora of beautiful fishing boats surrounding me on all sides... to say I was like a kid in a candy store is a bit of an understatement. I now have a much better understanding of how I would advise customers to install their Freedom Launcher on several target yaks.

Finally, after a 10 hr day, we braved a little snow to head to a farm-to-table gastro-pub in downtown by the capital.... what a blast!!

Catch you later on the Wilder Side!!!

David & Melinda
